Barista Highlight: Elise Bauer
Meet Elise Bauer, this month’s barista spotlight! Read below to get to know your Outer Loop barista, Elise.
How long have you been at Heine Brothers’?: I’ve worked at Heine Brothers’ for two and a half years.
Where are you from?: I grew up right here in Louisville! I left for school, lived internationally for a year, and then came home.
What is your favorite Heine Brothers’ drink?: Truly anything with bourbon sugar. But a snickerdoodle iced latte with oat milk has my heart.
What is your favorite Heine Brothers’ food/snack?: CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO PECAN SCONES. (Seasonal at our store but worth every second of the wait)
What is your favorite Heine Brothers’ blend?: Mexico and Guatemala
What is your favorite thing about working at Heine Brothers’?: I love the opportunity to be creative, but I have also really enjoyed training new baristas!
Why did you want to work for Heine Brothers’?: After graduating and living internationally, I REALLY needed to make some headway on student loans. A friend worked for HB at the time and told me to apply. It has been a huge source of stability and genuine friendship, so while I’ve had many second jobs over the last two years I’ve remained at Heine Bros! (Plus .. coffee)
What other hobbies do you have?: I spend a lot of time with my family, especially nieces and nephews. I love to camp, swim, play board games, travel and wreck anyone willing to take me on in a game of nertz. I’m very ready for live music to make an appearance in my life again. Mostly I like to be with people!
Fun fact?: I hiked 64 miles of the Amazon Jungle in Bolivia and white water rafted the Nile River in Uganda.
What is your favorite music to listen to at work?: Outer Loop is known for its 90s/early 00s dance parties, but I also love a (rare) slow morning with some sort of folksy radio.
What do you think makes Heine Brothers’ unique in comparison to other coffee shops?: A wide variety of options while still remaining high quality and locally roasted
Make sure to stop by Outer Loop and say hi to Elise!
