“She’s an incredibly skilled barista and it’s always an incredibly fun shift when she’s there! She’ll soon be joining the international tour for Straight Outta Oz,” Georgia, the Assistant Manager at our Jeffersonville store says.

Which location do you work at?
I work at Veterans Parkway
How long have you been working at HB?
I’ve been working at Heine’s since August 2016.

Louisville Native or Transplant?
Louisville native 🙂
Can you tell us a little bit more about the production and your role in Todrick Hall’s Straight Out of Oz tour?
I’m one of the dancers/ensemble member. The show is a great mix between a musical and a concert vibe. The show is Todrick Hall telling his life story infused with and related to the movie The Wizard of Oz. Todrick plays Dorothy and many of the other characters in the movie throughout the performance with some new characters. It is fun, high energy and will definitely have you on your feet. The great thing about it, is that everyone can relate. He brings up current events and topics that most people don’t want to talk about. It’s a beautiful story that I love telling every night we’re on stage.

Which city/country are you most looking forward to visiting on the Straight Out of Oz tour?
That’s so hard to say because we’re going to so many interesting places. I’ve always said I wanted to travel the world through dance and the fact that that’s becoming a reality, feels unreal to me.
But if I had to pick one, I’d have to pick Louisville, KY. Being able to perform in the area that I grew up in, warms my heart. It really put things in perspective and made me appreciate my journey to now.
How long have you been dancing, and how did you get started?
I’ve been dancing since I was 3. My mom started me at a studio in my hometown because she grew up dancing. She thought it’d be good for me to do. Then I began to love it and it grew from there. I’ve been dancing ever since then.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to hang out with my family. Family time is very important to me. I have to travel a lot and I have to make sacrifices due to the complexity of my job. So any time I have free, I enjoy spending it with the ones I love.
Who is or are your heroes?
OMG! What a question! There’s so many people that inspire me, especially the powerful women in my life like my mom and grandmas. They made such an impact in who I am today. They are so loving, strong and selfless women that I try to learn from in the daily. On a grander scale, Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Ashton Kutcher, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Will Smith…anyone that pushes the limits and stands up for powerful statements that the world needs to hear. People who use their platform to make a difference in the world.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, how would you spend the money?
If I won the lottery, I would probably use most of it to give back. Donate to charities and organizations, also back to my very deserving family. My family is a huge part of why I am where I am today. They believe in me so much and they deserve the world. Also, It’s been a dream of mine to pay for kids’ meals in elementary/middle schools in rough neighborhoods. Some parents can’t pay for their kids to eat so sometimes their school lunch is there only meal of the day. When a kid doesn’t have money in their account due to low income in their household, it can be very embarrassing for them. So I’d love to be able to provide a constant and dependable meal for them. Maybe a goodie bag at the end of the day to send home with the kids as well. I’d definitely use some of the winnings to help fulfill that dream. Sharing my money with others to make their lives a little easier would be my main focus.
Best birthday present you ever got?
The best birthday present I’ve ever gotten is when I was about 10, my parents threw me and my friends a dinner party at my house. We all got in our prettiest outfits. My dad (who’s a professional chef) prepared all of the food and my mom dressed up as a server and catered to us all evening. So many good memories from that birthday that will last me a lifetime.
Favorite HB drink & why?
My favorite drink is a medium miel with almond milk and a little cayenne 😉 not too sweet, natural flavors but has a little extra kick to get me going.
