Meet Your Barista: Perri @ Blankenbaker
If your go-to Heine Brothers’ is on Blankenbaker Parkway, you may know this month’s featured barista, Perri. When she’s not at Heine Brothers’, Perri is a freelance photographer!
Kate, the store manager at Blankenbaker, says Perri, “is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and she’s an excellent barista! She is a really terrific photographer and much of her work is based off of certain song lyrics as a way of expressing emotion.”
Which location do you work at?
How long have you been working at HB?
A little over a year now
Native or Transplant?
Native, but i’ve moved many times, and I’m back again.
I heard you are a photographer – what kind of subjects or style do you typically photograph?
I do lots of creative shoots, which is by far my favorite branch of photography. I enjoy doing senior portraits, fashion, and weddings.

Where do you get inspiration for your work?
I get most of my inspiration from some of my favorite bands. Basing many of my photos off lyrics and how I interpret them. It’s one of the ways that I enjoy expressing my emotions.
What is the best show/concert you’ve been to here in Louisville?
Definitely Imagine Dragons in June of 2015. They are my all time favorite band, and this was my third time seeing them. I had bought nosebleed tickets for my sister and I and somehow we ended up on the floor, second row. It was an incredible experience.
If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?
If I could pick anyone it would probably be Hayley Williams. She is a figure that I look up to so much. I’ve learned to be more comfortable with what I look like and what style I want to wear because of her. I used to be embarrassed that my outfit might look terrible, but now i’m wearing clothing that doesn’t match, oversized t-shirts and striped leggings and I am confident.
What is your life philosophy?
Be weird, creative, but confident. It’s important to love what you do, and be excited about it.
Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them.
Yes! Two boxer dogs. Their names are pongo and piper, and they are the best of friends. I love them so so much. I probably post too many pictures of them on snapchat.
Farthest you’ve traveled from Louisville?
New Mexico! It’s about a twenty-three hour drive. I lived there for four years, and it quickly became one of my favorite places in this country.
Favorite HB drink & why?
My go to is always the hazelnut latte, mostly because that’s what flavor creamer I’ve put in my coffee since I was thirteen.
