Heine Brothers’ Coffee Opening Largest Store to Date in Hikes Point

Local coffee roaster begins brewing Wednesday, April 26, set to hire 250th employee

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (April 25, 2017) Hikes Point will soon have a local option for organic, fair trade coffee when Louisville-owned and operated Heine Brothers’ Coffee opens the doors of its newest store on Wednesday, April 26, at 3965 Taylorsville Rd. The spacious 3,000 square foot space—Heine Brothers’ 14th coffee shop—will be its largest yet.  The store will also have a drive-thru.

To celebrate, April 26 and 27 beginning at 5:30 a.m., the first 250 customers at the Hikes Point location will receive a coupon good for a free Vint Julep coffee drink during Derby week.

Friday, April 28 at 9 a.m., an official grand opening ribbon cutting celebration will be held with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Greater Louisville Inc. Also, that morning, the first 400 customers will receive a grand opening pack, which includes a limited-edition Hikes Point neighborhood collectors mug, and discounts through May. In addition, a drawing will be held for one $100 gift card.

For Heine Brothers’ President Mike Mays, the Hikes Point store opening is also significant because of another milestone.

“We will soon be hiring our 250th employee,” said Mays. “That’s proof positive that Louisvillians are loyal to local.  For several years now, we’ve had more customers ask for a Hikes Point location than any other neighborhood.  We are thrilled to meet the demand and to open our doors as a place to connect, a place of ideas, a place of community.”

In late 2016, Heine Brothers’ relocated its offices, roasting operations, and warehouse to the Portland Warehouse District in a move aimed at helping renew the west side of Ninth street.

Mays continued, “We have been very thoughtful about how we grow. We always aim to make a positive community impact.”

Store hours at 3965 Taylorsville Rd. are MondaySaturday 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
